Armies gather for an Apocalyptic Ukrainian war. Just recently, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev gave an interview and warned NATO of nuclear war if Russia is defeated in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov echoed these sentiments and said, “Do not underestimate the threat of nuclear war.” NATO and the west are not backing down and instead amping up the war in earnest.
The events we are witnessing in Ukraine are horrific. See here and here for more recent details of what is happening on the ground in the Ukrainian war. Below are several reports of what has been recently happening in the Ukrainian war.
Below is a montage of recent reports on events on the ground in Ukraine. It describes a hellish landscape that is only set to worsen.
See in the video below a recent report from Kherson, Ukraine, which is emblematic of what is happening in many other areas of Ukraine.
Ukraine will get an advanced US-built Patriot defense missile system to try to counter Russian missile and drone attacks, the White House has confirmed. The bottom line is military equipment is being poured into the region.
Apparently, in the video below, are hordes of eastern Russians being mobilized and soon heading to Ukraine for a big offense.
Apparently these are hordes of eastern #Russians being mobilized & soon heading to #Ukraine.
The West needs to get #Abrams & #Leopard tanks into Ukraine, pronto. No time to waste. No word salads, political bullshit, get the wagons rolling.

Reminiscent of scenes from WWI, trench warfare has become commonplace, as shown in the close combat between a Russian and Ukrainian Soldier in the video below.

Poland said it would send its German-made tanks to Ukraine, regardless of any objections from Berlin. As VOA’s Henry Ridgwell reports, Germany is under intense pressure from allies to send its Leopard 2 tanks to aid Kyiv’s forces – but is refusing to make a quick decision.
Perhaps in a way to scare the US, a Russian ship armed with unstoppable Mach-8 nuclear-capable hypersonic cruise missiles has deviated from its course heading toward the US.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said the United States must provide Ukraine with the military equipment it needs to defeat Russia and insisted ongoing support is “in America’s best interest.” Pompeo, who is also the former Director of the CIA, said providing Ukraine with support is the fastest way to end the war. This seems to echo many of our leaders in Washington DC – see here a Congressional contingent who went to Kyiv in support of the US and NATO military build-up.
All three of us, one Republican and two Democrats, share the same goal – for Ukraine to drive the Russians out of Ukraine.
To achieve that goal, the Ukrainian military needs tanks. pic.twitter.com/WsrJBmgvj4— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) January 20, 2023
Pompeo spoke amid reports the US is preparing to send a shipment of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine while European countries are also weighing sending further arms to Kyiv. See Pompeo’s remarks in the video below and learn more here.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration has said it will send 30 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, in a significant breakthrough and escalation after weeks of debate, as well as division over the issue within the NATO alliance.
What have been the results of this kind of talk?
This year, the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moves the hands of the Doomsday Clock forward, largely (though not exclusively) because of the mounting dangers of the war in Ukraine. The Clock now stands at 90 seconds to midnight – the closest to global catastrophe it has ever been. See the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists display their announcement in the video below.

Since its inception in 1947, the Doomsday Clock was initially used to represent the danger posed by nuclear weapons. The move forward closer to midnight was due “largely, though not exclusively, because of the mounting dangers in the war in Ukraine,” Rachel Bronson, current president and CEO of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, said at the press conference. See this in the chart below, the ups and downs of this historical trend, and learn more here.
Below is a short video showing another version of this Doomsday clock timeline.

Below is a longer form video showing the rationale of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists regarding why the Doomsday clock timeline has been moved closer to midnight.
If NATO successfully fights off the “monster” Putin and the Russian offensive, we may have to remove Putin and go all the way to Moscow. There will be no doubt that we will be met with flowers and praise from the Russian people when we enter Moscow – like so many times in the past 50 years of American international adventurism [satire].
Right?
Or, on the defeat of Putin, Russia could descend into factional fighting amongst vying regional oligarchs, each holding their part of the 6,000 stashes of loose nukes floating around the region. Yikes!
Yes, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists had good reason to advance the Doomsday clock.
